Volunteer Requirements
All swim families are required to attend certain volunteer events for the upcoming season. These events are mandatory for at least 1 adult to attend, even if you choose NO fundraising/volunteer option when registering. Please note penalties will be applied for failure to attend. These mandatory volunteer events are as follows:
Bottle Drive - Sat Oct 18, 2025 from 11am-1pm
Edson Orcas Home Swim Meet - Nov 22/23, 2025 - 1 shift per participating swimmer required
Edson Orcas Home Swim Meet - Feb 28-Mar 1, 2026 - 1 shift per participating swimmer required
(You will receive $25 volunteer credit for every shift worked at each swim meet, including the mandatory shift)
We are always looking for more parents to take the Stroke and Turn course to volunteer in this role during our home swim meets. This course is typically offered just prior to our home swim meet and takes approximately 3 hours. Stroke and Turn officials are responsible for judging the swimmers during their races and watching for any infractions (incorrect stroke technique or turn). Because this position requires more training, we offer $50 volunteer credit per shift for Stroke and Turn Officials.
